Lowrine Denson, 71, of Peoria, passed away at 4:24 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Lowrine was born in Forrest City, AR on February 13, 1938, a daughter of Woodrow and Lexanna (Hines) Wilson. They preceded her in death, along with one sister and three brothers.
She is survived by her son, ScotEric (Amy) Denson of Peoria; sisters, Moralee (Melvin) McLaurin of Chicago, Pearl M. Wilson of Peoria, Maxine Wilson-Jones of Peoria and Kay Johnson of Peoria; brother, Jesse A. Wilson of Peoria; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; uncle, Rufus Wilson of Peoria; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lowrine was a Licensed Practical Nurse with the State of Illinois for over thirty years. She retired in 2000 from the Tinley Park Mental Health Center and was formerly employed with the Bartonville State Hospital.
She enjoyed traveling, knitting, sewing, listening to gospel music and reading the Bible. She was a lover of all people and enjoyed her family and her church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009, at the Church of the Living God Temple 130, 2815 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria, with Bishop Shelby Hines officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
The family will be receiving friends at 2401 West Antoinette Street in Peoria.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kathryn Allen-Dyes, family assistant through Clary Funeral Home in Peoria.
